CAn someone please let me know that how much Canadian Dollars in CASH can I carry with me at the MUMBAI Airport when I first time travel to Canada on a work Visa.....

even one dollar over you must declare the whole amount else risk losing or being fined. The 10000 cDn by the way is a total of ALL currency in your possession when arriving in Canada not just dollars.

As per the Reserve Bank of India guidelines, you are allowed to carry only up to USD 5,000 if you are traveling abroad for employment.... this foreign currency must be purchased from an authorized dealer in India.

The Forex purchase receipt will state your name and passport number.... and it will be issued only when you have confirmed flight tickets
