I am a Canadian Citizen, living in the US x 18 years. I have a two sons and understand that I can apply for Canadian Citizenship Certificates and then Canadian Passports. My question is, are they eligible to attend Canadian Universities despite having never lived in Canada? Will tuition be as it would for any other Canadian Citizen? Thank you in advance.

Hi there,
As long as they still have Canadian Citizenship they could attend the universities in Canada. The tuitions will be the same as all Canadians. The first of all you need to resume the Canadian Citizenship. Please follow http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/resume.asp

The link provided is not correct. Resuming citizenship only applies to individuals who currently are NOT Canadian citizens but used to be citizens. The OP's kids have been Canadian Citizens since birth. All they need is a Citizenship Certificate which is needed for the passport application.

If the kids were born in Canada, you should have a Canadian birth certificate, so you don't even need the citizenship certificate.

If your kids were born outside Canada, apply for a citizenship certificate here:
