I got my WES ECA results today. Can someone take a look and let me know if I can select Two or more certificate, diploma or degree in cic? I have a 4yr Bachelor's degree which I completed in India, and I recently completed a Professional Certificate course at UCSC.

This is what I see in the WES ECA.

CANADIAN EQUIVALENCY SUMMARY
Bachelor's degree (four years)

CREDENTIAL ANALYSIS
1. Credential Authentication: Official transcripts were sent directly by the institution
Country: India
Credential: Bachelor of Technology
Major/Specialization: Electronics and Communication Engineering
Canadian Equivalency: Bachelor's degree (four years)

2. Credential Authentication: Official transcripts were sent directly by the institution
Country: United States of America
Credential: Certificate Program in Database and Data Analytics
Awarded by: University of California, Santa Cruz
Canadian Equivalency: Completion of a college-level certificate (one semester)

Not sure why WES thinks I studied for only one semester. I studied for 3 semesters which is 1yr of education. I have emailed them to check and correct the ECA, am waiting for their reply.

I was really hoping that I would be able to select the Two or more degree options, since without that I am only getting 395 points (losing points for age). If I select Two or more degree then my score rises to 425 which would mean I could get a nomination from Ontario. I am already getting the maximum points for IELTS and work experience, so there's nothing that I can do further there. The only other option would be to pursue a Masters degree which would take 2yrs, cost a lot of money and I would meanwhile lose more points for age.

So, can I select Two or more years or do I have to start looking for PNPs from other provinces beside Ontario?

I guess you would be better to have an official response from WES, but i'll chip as far as i know based on my own research it i - I dont think there is a chance to classify as a DEGREE like your bachelor, as it is a certificate and does not have an official degree award (i.e. ba, btech etc). Therefore they have classified it that way. Please let us know how WES will respond.

I am afraid you cannot.

If your summary displays another degree or diploma or certificate, then you might have a fighting chance. All the best

@Markicof Your ECA report looks very similar to mine. My certificate should have been evaluated as a One year certificate course, but for some reason WES only mentioned one semester.

Please keep us updated of what happens with your CIC profile.

This is interesting. I have sent my Australian Chartered Accounting qualification to WES. The website says its a 'Graduate Diploma' so lets see what result comes back.

The CIC website states:

A three-year or more certificate, diploma, or degree

PLUS any of the results in the sections below (not including secondary/high school), or:

Post-Bachelor's Certificate
Post-undergraduate certificateFootnote 1
Post-Bachelor's Diploma
Post-undergraduate diplomaFootnote 1
Graduate Certificate
Graduate Certificate with a focus in [area of concentration]Footnote 1
Postgraduate certificate
Postgraduate Diploma
Graduate Diploma with a focus in [area of concentration]Footnote 1
Graduate diplomaFootnote 1
two-year Postgraduate Diploma, specializing in [name of discipline]
two-year Bachelor’s after degree with a focus in [area of concentration]Footnote 1
one-year Postgraduate Certificate in [name of discipline]
one-year of graduate study with a focus in [area of concentration]Footnote 1
Study Toward a Master's Degree

Sections below include bachelor's degree, 2 year cert and one year cert so I am hopeful it counts.

Hope you're right and they give me an Assessment which fits the criteria.

What is the equivalent of a "College-level certificate" in cic? Is it a graduate certificate or post-undergraduate certificate?

Good question , the only way I could get it to update my points was to add in the Bachelor's as a Bachelor's and then all the certificate as two or more. It then took a full 24 hrs to update.

Guys, be careful in selecting the 'Two or More Degree' option. The most important thing is
CANADIAN EQUIVALENCY SUMMARY
Bachelor's degree (four years)

The summary should mention the second degree for you to select this option. Don't get extra points only to be rejected by CIC

Can you post what is the summary given to you by WES?

This is true. If the final evaluation is something like

Bachelor 3 years AND (Another degree)

Then you most likely you can choose two degrees. It still depends on what WES said in its summary equivalency
