Can a person holding visitor's visa apply for OWP from within Canada?

Hi,

I have applied for study permit this week and my spouse wishes to come along with me to Canada on TRV. Will he be able to apply for OWP once we both reach Canada? He does not want to do so from India as the average processing time from India is 4 months and my course will begin in September 2014. So, he doesn't have enough time to do so and I want to fly WITH him to Canada.

Please advise.

yes ur spouse can apply for spousal open work permit once in canada on TRV.....
