Hi There,

I need help to calculate my years of experience in Canada.

As per Express Entry program under CEC, you should have 1 years of experience in last 3 years. I need to know which financial years are calculated as 3 Years. My case is as below:

Started working on WP in Canada in April 2014 to March 2015. Went back to home country. Came back to Canada in July 2016 and currently working in Canada.

I want to know based on above, how many years of experience will be counted? I filled my Express Entry profile and I was awarded 1 yr experience equivalent points.

If CIC considers 3 years as previous financial years i.e., 2014, 2015 & 2016, then I will complete 2 years experience in Canada in June 2017.

Please help and let me know how many years of experience I will be awarded in my express profile on June 2017?

There is a difference between how EE CRS points are calculated, and how the CEC program calculates your eligibility.

For CEC eligibility - you need at least one year of skilled Canadian work experience in the previous 3 years (counting backwards from the date you actually submit your eAPR). You need to meet this requirement both at the time you receive the ITA, and at at the time you submit your eAPR.

For CRS points - experience over the past 10 years counts (as of the time of the ITA).

So, you should be able to receive credit for all 3 years...

Just make sure not to submit your eAPR until you have actually completed 3 full years of work, using full dates (dd/mm/yyyy) ...

Hi,

Today is 1st June and I was hoping to get additional points awarded as I complete 2 yrs of my experience in Canada. But I didn't received any points as such in my profile.
Should I withdraw my profile and resubmit again or should I wait or contact CIC?
