No i think you got sthg wrong....i didnt even write my timeline. I sponsored my husband in November 2010, got approved June 2011 , file got transfered to Ottawa and then cairo visa office. Since june 2011 no news then rcved email august to send passport and all that....i think maybe with theelectricity that was the case. We will c.

Sounds like your total timeline is around 7 months... we are now coming up to 7 months and have just heard from the Cairo office and they are asking for us to submit documents and photos - the same documents and photos that we already submitted...but our file was being handled by Ottawa- and now seems that it's back in Cairo. They've even asked us for an original marriage certificate.... did you, or anyone in this forum experience this or know what this means? thanks...

did any one tried to email cairo visa office recently. ? i have been trying to email them for the whole day and it didnot let me ... my emails returns back to me. and it showed me that the email address is wrong .(re-cairo-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca)and also tried (cairo-im-enquiry@international.ca) and it does not deliver. even though i sent an email 3 days a go and they answered me. but now i have no idea whats going on. ,,, any one has this issue ?

that s good news . that happend to me too . its just cus they didn't send all your documents from attawa
they asked me for the same things too with photo letters emails . but they wont really look at it . any way , did they ask you for 2 personal photo and your passport ?

they are kinda dump , dont keep sending them emails it will make your fil take longer

you get it when its frist time to land in canada ex ( if you are going to calgary but you landed frist in ontario you get it in in ontario )
and you get the PR card after 6 weeks to 8 weeks and its vaild for 5 years

thx mr x but what about the visa i mean when i get the visa for the 1st time i know that i should travel within specific time or it will be expired and then ill have to do all over again so how long is the visa valid for ??

they will tell you when you get it but i think it will be till the medical expire and it will be writing in the visa dont worry

Hi everybody

I have a question and i hope somebody can help me

i applied to sponsor my wife on April 9th 2012

i received the approval on july 9th and in the letter they said that the file was transferred to Egypt (cairo office).. and when i check the application it says that application received and medical results have been received.

but today i called just to check if everything is fine.. in Cairo they told me that they have never received the file. and when i called CIC they told me that the file was transferred to the ottawa pilot instead and they help the cairo office now.. i was just wondering if this is a good news or bad news.. so is it better that the file is being treated by ottawa pilot or by the cairo office..is this a good sign or not?.. and if anybody has a similar experience and can tell me what happened in his case?

almost everyone is transferred to ottawa pilot
I do not think any one is better than the other, it is what it is.
