Your US credit cards will charge a foreign transaction fee if you use them in Canada.

If you use a credit card to "withdraw money" - take a cash advance - you will also be charged a transaction fee and a high interest rate.

If you have an ATM/debit card for your Bank of America (BOA) account, you can use it to withdraw money from your account while in Canada. You will be charged a foreign transaction fee. EXCEPTION - if you use it to withdraw cash at a Scotiabank (Canadian dollars) there is no fee.
