Honestly I would be interested in the response to this question when our time comes! I had asked it before but never received an answer.

It took me about two months before I saw the update. The good news with you is that you have already submitted the requested documents and now waiting for PPR, just like us. Let me know when luck strikes at your inbox. Good luck.

That's great but what a difference in timeline. My ecas was updated as 'Medical results have been received' just a couple of weeks after my medicals were done.
People with job offers have their cases placed on the 'fast lane' for processing!

Hi forumers,
While waiting for PPR, after adding a line that Medical results have been received, I was asked for POF again. So I submitted a bank statement for the last 6 months with 2 large cash deposits on it, (total 10000$) along with the explanation that I`ve received them in cash as a gift from my mum who lives abroad. I have included a sign Gift Letter from my mum (not a Sworn Affidavit) and Sworn Affidavit from my side with a statement that the money is now mine and with no obligations to pay back and etc. Unfortunately, after 60 days I received another mail with statement that money I'd received as a gift is not acceptable as POF since they're "not satisfied that the money is unencumbered by debt or other obligation or I have sufficient funds available for settlement in Canada" . After all they requested any additional information or documentation ( in another final 30 days.
Isn't that weird? Gift Letter as well as Sworn Affidavit in US are legal documents, so why it is not acceptable in Canada? Or maybe they were looking for some proof of withdrawal from my mum's account? But if she had this savings in a jar at home rather than in a bank!??Or they simply were looking for the Gift Letter to be sworn on oath as well?
If anyone went through the same experience please suggest.
Thanks

When did you receive the gift from your mother? Was it before or after the request for POF? Sorry I did not go through the same experience and can't offer specific advice. However, when you add significant deposits before or after POF it can raise red flags and the concern from CIC may be that the money isn't yours but temporarily given to you to satisfy POF. What further documentation did they ask for?

Use a rental truck :) Hopefully, next month we will have a leased home and will bring all our belongings in a rental truck. Probably Uhaul or something like it since like you, our car isn't big enough. Just include everything that you intend to bring on the GTF list and keep the copy that they stamped when you you land. From what I've read and the experience of a few friends it isn't a problem.

Here is my experience:
During the initial application, I included stock market statement, personal bank statements, and a statement from a son's account where one of us is a custodian. However, when CC requested for updated documents, our accounts were short by about $3000 although the baby's account had more than 50K. The REP suggested that we withdraw money from the baby's account (cash) and deposit it in the personal account because CIC couldn't understand whether we could transact the child's account without any restriction. We had to make all copies of the withdrawal slips, balance slip and deposit slip that forwarded to CIC.
To answer your question:
Let the mother notarize all the paperwork regarding this transaction. Also I would suggest that you enclose her notarized ids and a copy of your birth certificate that would link the two of you. I would NOT take chances with this matter however unreasonable this maybe.
I hope this helps.
