BUFFALO APPLICANTS - File transferred to other VO due to Buffalo closing down

Hello guys,

I am with you on the same boat, I have been watching this forum for a while and finally decided to join in.
I applied in Feb2011 did medicals in Aug2011 and since then NOTHING.
What they are doing is in-human and unethical.
I had a friend of mine who applied in March2012 to Ottawa and had his case finalised in Oct2012. and MANY MANY more like him.

When I send a message to Ottawa they say that they have a lot of files yet they are able to finish new application in 6-7 month (Why lie), why don't they finish the application of those who have been waiting for almost 2 years.

Anyway I have never applied for GCMS before but I will apply for one now, and I might need your help guys on some fields.

I also applied for my second today. lets see how long it takes.

It was around 30 days, but now I have heard it is around 2 weeks.

They asked for a copy of my passport and 2x passport photos to be sent to Detroit within 30-days

With not Ottawa also printing off Visas and issuing PPR, it might be a good thing as time would be reduced rather than sending Detroit as we will be one of the first ones there but I am not sure if this will be part of the delay of our PR Processing. Another thing that it might impact is our landing, I believe some people who went to Detroit in person landed on the way back, which will not be possible when this happens!

do you think that granting PR to the PNP applicants, every province can be granted a certain number of residencies per year?
maybe thats why QSW and ontario PNP guys are getting PPR and none from saskatchewan I think.
whats ur opinion?

I'm an alberta pnp and going to do my port of entry next month.

I want to move out of alberta asap.

So, i'm going to ask my work for a transfer.

But, is there any risk in asking for a transfer before i get my PR card.

Like can my work call immigration? If there is a risk i can wait for my

PR card and then ask my work.

If you are PNP than don't worry about Eigibility - its already passed but they usually don't update the value.
Criminality - Shouldn't take too long probably two weeks, during that time they will aslo figure out if additional checks are required.
Security - If additional checks are required, this check will be conducted else it will be ignored.

Summary - you are almost there, just pray they don't require Additional BG checks - and you are just a month from today.

Congratulations budd, did you ever requested GCMS? any idea if they conducted BG checks on your file? if yes how long did it take?

i heard CoPR and PR documents will now be prepared by CPP-O, did they ask you to submit passport in Detroit or Ottawa?

For same delivery please check Detroit consulate web site, i believes same day service is on Tuesdays and Thursday. please check the schedule.

the thing is that they gave me only 30 days to send my passport, and I have a flight booked in 3 weeks to spend christmas with my family (3 weeks is not enough for Detroit to send back my passport + landing visa)
so I was thinking of doing a same day landing visa, enter back Canada with my work permit+regular visa (TRV) that I already have, then do my landing when i come back from my christmas vacation in January. do you think this is possible?

to answer your question about GCMS. I applied in Aug. back then it showed blank next to security check and in progress next to criminality. my eligibility was passed. so I'm not sure if there was a BG check going on or not

If you want you can do same day passport service, it depends where is your flight? if it is to Detroit you can do it - but check the consulate web site for holliday hours and operations. if you mail it than there are little chances you will get your passport back in three weeks on other hand i have seen people who have got their passport back in 10 days after mail received status by tracking.

You and I almost have simillar timeline, i applied on 7th December 2010 and my file is undergoing BG checks. Is your file undergoing same procedure?
