So there are no more PPRs for the pre sept 2011 applicants this week, this sucks. In other forums 2012 applicants are anxious for not getting PPR/ cheering on getting PPR. I think Ottawa needs God blessing so they can realize how miserable it can be if they have stopped issuing PPR :p. God bless Ottawa.
I got my PPR on Monday 27 Aug. Mine was transferred to Seattle Apr 04. I applied in May 11. ECAS changed to In Process as of 27 Aug.

Glad to hear that you are from Pakistan too..

What i have heard through news that you are no more eligible to apply for PR for your wife under sponsorship instead you can apply for 3 years visa which will also allow your spouse to work here. Yes you should not squander your ongoingn PPR let it continue and postpone your wedding (if possible)..

Again i would say you should verify the info from CIC call center before taking any step.

hope it helps
New development. When did this happen. Can you give me the source for this information. I will try to call CIC. but they are never available. Any better way to contact them. 3 year visa with open work permit.. i would take it any day :) But once she is here, why cant she apply through inland process. thanks very much.

Fallen_hero,

I doubt you will get even TRV for your wife!! please double check with customer service (once they will know you are PPR they will not even issue TRV). You don't know how painful this process is, i have seen guys who are stuck in Canada for last 4 to 5 years and their families living in back home.. What i have heard, Canada has stopped sponsorship visa even for spouses because of marriage scams they rather issue 3 years of visa to your Spouse (if you are PR at that time) and they are eligible to work here. After three years you will then be able to sponsor her within Canada which should be fast if not then at least your spouse will be with you... (plz call customer service). If you go with second option then the only choice you have is postpone your wedding until you get PPR.

Play the tricks safely..
Hope it helps.
@shaikhaffi: Where did you hear about this > "Canada has stopped sponsorship visa even for spouses because of marriage scams they rather issue 3 years of visa to your Spouse ".

There is nothing mentioned on the cic website. Please STOP posting wrong information.

I have read this in some bulletin (conditional PR), this is a proposed amendment and have been circulated among different bodies for further discussion (as human right is a major concern for such act). I am certain this hasn't been implemented yet.

I think you should better discuss your concern with CIC or a lawyer. This forum has exercised and experienced on cases that can be seen any standard PR application processing. Your concern is something I haven't seen in any case yet. But I am sure there are such cases where applicants want to get married before getting PPR and CIC/lawyer would be the right platform to get the best advise.

Thanks

Its better to call CIC, she will be able to apply under sponsorship after 3 years. Thursdays are less busy for CIC call center, you should call now.

Yup lawyer is good option too but sometimes because of their main purpose (i.e. money) they don't tell you complete story but a part of story which will benefit them instead, its rather better to contact CIC first and then lawyer..

Congrats Fenster, Seattle is more consistent than Ottawa. I wish they would have rather transferred my file to Seattle.

Which number should I call. I have 1-888-242-2100. Any other number which is more appropriate for this kinda discussion.

Start with the one listed in the website. If required they will give you the direction to the right person. If you find any fruitful information pls share them with this forum.

I just received the PR visa from Detroit. It only took a week for processing. For those who have already got the passport request from Detroit, maybe it is faster if you make your submission to the Windsor,ON post box.
