Bridging Open Work Permit Query

I've just come across this scenario in my company:

We have a foreign national from Australia who’s current work permit is valid until October 11, 2021.. She submitted an application for PR though the CEC class, and subsequently applied for a BOWP which is still in process.

She just advised me that her PR application was rejected because her police clearance from Australia was more than 12 months old.

She has requested a new police clearance and has registered her express entry profile again, with the expectation of re-applying for PR through CEC should she get a new ITA. (her CRS score is rather high, so she likely will receive an ITA next round, should there be a CEC draw).

If she is successful in submitting a new PR application before a decision is made on her current BOWP application, will IRCC continue to process it, or should she cancel that BOWP application, and re-apply for a new BOWP once she successfully submits a new PR application?
