Thanks IMMI_123. Yes we should be sending off the CEC app in the next week or so. My wife is just waiting for a couple of documents. I will post again later on to give an update for anyone's future reference.
Hi Genghis ,

Did you apply for BOWP .

I am a fsw applicant . I am about to apply for BOWP .
In the new link http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2013/ob485A.asp

What does this line mean ?
For spouses of Federal Skilled Worker Class applicants: the Bridging WP holder must be performing work which is at a level that falls within National Occupational Classification (NOC) Skill Levels 0, A or B.

Q1. My understanding is we are not giving any job letter or anything for BOWP application . How do I prove that I am working in the field ?
Q2. In some other forum I heard that Both Prinicipal applicant and Spouse need to fill separate appliation form . Is it true ?

Hi all,

I have a couple of questions regarding BOWP and spouse OWP eligibility. It sounds like you may have been in a similar situation.

My partner and I are in Canada on IEC work permits which expire 26 Feb 2015. We submitted PR application under FSW in September 2014. At current processing times we anticipate receipt of AOR by the end of January. Once AOR is received we intend to apply for BOWP for my partner (as PR principal applicant) and a spouse open work permit for me.

My concern is regarding what I understand to be the most current guidance:
‘For spouses of FSWP applicants, the bridging work permit holder must be performing work which is at a level that falls within National Occupational Classification (NOC) Skill Levels 0, A or B.'

My partner works remotely as an engineer for a consultancy based in the UK (work which clearly meets the above skill levels), while she looks for work in Canada. Am I eligible for the OWP based on my partners BOWP or does she need a job in Canada?

Thanks for your help.

hi guys

I have a question.

My spouse is the primary applicant on PR application.
Can I apply for BOWP for me (as my WP is expiring 3 months before my spouse) only.

Please reply.
Does anyone have an answer for this situation? I am on the same boat, having been issued a one year open work permit, while my spouse (the primary applicant on our PR application) holds a two year one.

No. You can't apply alone. You can apply for owp only if your spouse wp is valid for 6 months or more.
