BOWP - How many of you have applied and received it successfully?

Hi folks,

After nerve wracking wait, received email in MyCIC Inbox.

Applied BOWP - May 7th
Received Email - June 20th

The email says Type as Permit - WP-EXT, any idea if this means a open work permit. I am currently on Closed WP and applied for BOWP. I am worried if they would send me a Closed WP extension.

Can I have a BOWP as well as a closed WP at the same time?My closed WP is expiring in Nov 2013.If I apply and get a open WP at the same time will it result in cancellation of my closed WP?My current employer allows us to work only on closed WP.If I get an open one and my previous WP is anulled I may not be eligible to work with my current employer then.

Please suggest.

IMO, your employer need not know that you have received open wp and moreover it doesn't say anywhere that closed wp is not valid anymore.

you will get some idea. Few of us are in similar situation, I applied for both, got my BOWP and waiting for the decision of closed one (closed one I applied recently as per my companies policy or whatever....). I will update you guys my outcome. As far as my understanding and after having few discussions with CIC executives, it is POSSIBLE!

I just received an approval email for the BOWP, but one thing that concerns me is that confirmation letter -- which you can find on the MyCIC home page -- shows that it's valid to June 2014, whereas my current PGWP expires August 2013. This puts me at a 10 month extension, effectively.

Obviously, I'm hoping that my PR application is approved well before then (Oct 2012 applicant), but has anyone else experienced this? I'm thinking of getting in touch with CIC and getting this sorted out once I receive the document.

Can someone tell me if how and where do we include existing WorkPermit document?

I am applying for BOWP and could not find out where do I attach my existing Work Permit? I suppose that is one document is required.

if you are doing online attach all such documents with a cover letter as one PDF (after scan) in the place of 'Letter of Explanation'

This is what I was thinking but needed confirmation. I also need to to know under Employment section on the actual form, I have only 3 section to detail out my employment History. Wondering if I need more space to provide employment history for last 10 years.....

Should I write Appendix A and attach an appendix with the explanation letter..? Please advise..

yes me too were in similar situation, I had attached the additional sheet also along with Letter of Explanation.
