I don't have my birth certificate available but I saw on the Indian Consulate website that they can issue it based on the passport. Will it be good for the Canadian immigration requirement?Has anyone done this before?

a birth certificate is a birth certificate. i think it should be fine as long as it is legal and since an authorised person is issuing it, it will be fine.

A couple of posters have stated that CIC has refused to accept birth certificates issued by the Consulate either a real birth certificate or 10 year school certificate.
