1.We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on August 1, 2013.
2.We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on August 1, 2013. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
3.We started processing your application on October 7, 2013.
4.We sent you a notice on January 16, 2014 to appear and write the citizenship test on February 5, 2014 at 1:30 PM. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us.
I know its fast I am shocked too, my husband did his application in 2012 just last year 2013 in may he did his citizen test and just after the test they gave him an RQ, Though they told him on the spot that he passed and the reason why they gave him an RQ, he travels a lot, and because he didn't put a date in one of the jobs he worked because we didn't remember. though we did put a month and the year. looks like it was his luck to get it.CK07 said:Oh wooow..! Here is my Canadian citizenship application timeline:
Mailed to CIC: August 27, 2013
Received by CIC: August 28, 2013
AOR: October 30, 2013
Here is the timeline of a friend of mine, a Toronto resident (he had a completely standard application, no RQ, Scarborough office):
Mailed to CIC: March 30, 2013
AOR: August 28, 2013
Citizenship Test: January 24, 2014
Oath: January 30, 2014.
Based on my friend's timeline, it appears that it is taking approximately 5 months from AOR to Oath at the moment - which means that August 2013 applicants in the Toronto area can expect to be citizens by the end of March or so, assuming no RQ or any other unforeseen delays. Also, I note that it took them almost 5 months for my friend to get his AOR, while it took me only 2 months. Things are speeding up for sure!

Yes, alot actually. My travel delayed my application for about 8 months, my 2-years as PR came up back in January 2013. Because of my travel, I didn't have 1,095 days until end of August 2013. My friend traveled a ton, too - he traveled even more than I did during the previous 4 year period.muzmil said:
