It is a virtual ceremony but currently, there aren't any reports or any evidence you can take oath from outside Canada. So, the current understanding is you MUST be in Canada to take oath.

You will likely be asked to reschedule if you can't get back to Canada for oath.
Thanks a lot for your reply, could you please update the excel sheet DM on 29th july please

ECAS changed to 'decision made'. Everything except the citizenship ceremony in the new tracker says 'Completed'. Timeline in signature.

Hello Everyone, just want to check, if anyone still waiting for background check to be completed?

Application sent - April 14, 2020
Application received - April 16, 2020
AOR - October 28, 2020
In Progress - December 7, 2020
Office - Halifax

called them last month and was told, criminality is completed but waiting for security to complete.

But no update since AOR. Just curious to see if anyone else in the same boat?
Please join the thread “2020 Background checks pending” you’re not alone.

When I checked the application status, I have a test invite between August 7 and August 28. However, I haven't received an email, is this is normal? Do I need to receive an email to take the test?

I'm on the same boat. The window's opening really soon and I don't have a test link. Any ideas on what we should do at this point?

That is normal, you may have to until August 6/7 to receive the email. From where did you apply?

Not sure maybe to wait is the only way. Not sure did anyone else had this situation.
I also read on another thread that some people did not receive an email at all and just went ahead and did the test. I don't know how I could do the test without receiving an email with a link.

Yes you dont need an invite through email. All you need is the activation of test for your application which you can see it on tracker. So during that test window days, choose some day and start giving test.

Dont wait for email invitation which was required only when we had to go to test center. Now its not required. Just prepare for test.

You'll receive an email one or two days before the test. On rare occasions, people have NOT received an email.

Here's the link to take the test =>

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/canadian-citizenship/become-canadian-citizen/citizenship-test/online.html#start

Here's the link to tutorial for the test (all you need to know to take the test) =>

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/canadian-citizenship/become-canadian-citizen/citizenship-test/tutorial.html

Good luck!
