Couple of questions.

1. Ecas changes to "Decision Made" before we get PPR or vice versa? Or its up to the VO to follow certain sequence?
2. In current time frame, how long it takes to get PPR after status changing to In Process in ECAS?
1) Could be. I saw a couple of cases where their status in ECAS was decision made and the PPR email came after. However, there are other cases where ECAS shows In-Process and you receive PPR before the status changes to Decision Made. As someone said before, it really depends on your VO and how he/she handles updates in ECAS.

2) Looks like after 2 weeks In-Process, some folks got PPR. Remember that your home country may or may not be involved the last part of the background checks which can delay your application a bit longer or not. Every case is basically unique, but 2 weeks is the early you can get PPR I believe.

Thanks Maxmoore. My status changed to In process on 27th Feb. We can't do anything else other than waiting. After all, this is the last wait on the journey.

I just saw a new "Date changed to In-Process" tab in the Sheet.
Can someone please update my date as March 2nd 2015 there?

You will have to contact CIC and let them know about your current status and address. They will instruct you which way to follow (probably will have to send you passports to the nearest embassy in Europe). Nonetheless you have to let them know first.

Hope it helps.
Thanks,

Hey guys,

I have questions for you:

- How long will the COPR be valid for? (What`s the time frame given to do the landing?)

- How many months before the expiration date my passport has to be to be accepted by CIC for COPR?

Thanks!!

Usually, its good if the passport is valid for 1 year at least.
Anything less than that, CIC might ask you for a new passport details.

- As long as your medical results are still valid.
- I think it's either 6 months or 1 year. Most likely 1 year.

Sorry, maybe I didn't explain myself. I wanted to say (first bullet) that the CoPR is valid as long as your medicals are valid - as far as I know. In our case, it will be issued until end of November / early December. Maybe someone who already landed can confirm this.

About Passport, I don't know. If they follow the international rules, a Passport is considered valid if the expiration date is grater than 6 month. In this case, the CoPR will be valid either until your Passport expires or your Medical expires (first case).

Hope someone sheds some light about this because I haven't gone through this process yet.

But, if you are going to land as soon as you have CoPR, you shouldn't worry about this. However, if you are not in Canada and you would like to land later this year, renewing your Passport sounds reasonable.

My Application is "In process".....I dont know how long it will take to receive PPR, and I am not sure if they will accept my passport expiring in October.

I guess the best thing to do is renew it to avoid delays and/or problems.

I've read somewhere that it is valid, whichever comes first, Medical validity (1 year) or passport expiry (until the last day and not the 6 months period).

So if your passport will be renewed, the validity will rely on your Medicals.
