Hi

I have a question regarding the CEC. I am currently in Montreal on a closed work permit with approved LMO filed by my company in India. My project is getting over in May end 2017 and I would be going back to India after that. I am going to complete one year in Montreal on 15th May. Can I apply for PR under CEC because I wish to live in the province of Ontario? Will it be better that I file my application when I reach India or from here within Quebec? Any other proofs that I can show to convince that I plan to stay outside of the province of Quebec?

Thanks

Yes, you can apply with your Quebec experience. It really doesn't matter if you apply from here or back in India, but it might be easier to convince IRCC that you do not plan to live in Quebec when you are not actually living there.

When you complete the application, there's a question that asks about which province you intend to live in - you can put Ontario, you might even receive an NOI from the Ontario provincial nominee program.

Thanks for you reply. One more question-- in order to show the experience in Canada what documents are actually required?
Currently I have:
1. copy of my work permit
2. Last 12 month salary slips of my Canadian Income
3. I have my canada income tax return forms.
anything else that is required?
Also I read in few posts that I might need to share a letter of intent that i plan to live outside of the province of Quebec. Is it really required to be submitted with the original application, even though there is no query from CIC?

Thanks in advance for all the help.

The single most important document is the letter of employment/letter of reference from your employer...

Read the whole thing - but esp. the Proof of Work Experience section -
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/perm/express/intake-complete.asp

If you are living in Quebec at the time of your application, this might be requested. You can submit it up front if you think it will help, but it is not mandatory.

Thank you very much for the prompt response. I have check the link suggested by you.
I can get the experience letter from the employer in India to show my experience in India. for the canadian work experience, I have a letter of appointment from my Indian employer which was issued to me during my WP filing. it has a list of my job duties, and details about my pay and wages. along with this I can show my T4 forms and notice of assessments along with salary slips. Will this be enough based upon some past experience that you may have.

Thanks in advance for all the help.

No, not really enough ... for 2 reasons - (a) an appointment letter precedes the actual experience, it does not prove what you actually did, and (b) in addition to your employer's letter, you would also need a letter from a Canadian (for example, if you were seconded to a Canadian client, you should get a client letter attesting to your dates, role, job duties/responsibilities, hours worked per week...), it would be modified as appropriate to reflect the client's perspective...

Thanks for the information.
Is it possible for you to share some sample experience letter? I can ask my client in Canada to provide me with similar letter. Or any other post which you can share where I can get some help.

Thank you very much in advance. Really appreciate your help.
