APPLIED FOR VISA in UAE, IS IT POSSIBLE TO DEPART in MNL???

Hi, I just want to know if anyone can give me any information about my concern. I applied for my temporary working visa in Abu Dhabi, United Arab of Emirates and am thinking to go back to my home country (Manila, Philippines) for a vacation. I might be able to get my visa soon and am thinking, once I get my visa I want to go back in Manila for 2 weeks visit. So the question now is it possible for me to depart from manila even though I got my visa here in United Arab of Emirates? Is this is possible do I still need to get a POLO?

Because as far as I know if I will depart in manila I need to register in OWWA and do medical, dental and pidos. But if I will depart here in Dubai, UAE. I don’t need to do this stuff and it will be better for me because I don’t need to spend money. Though I really want to go back home for just a short visit.

Please can anyone help me to clear my head about my concern? Or do you know anyone that has been into the same situation that I have.

Thanks!

Well if you chose to depart from Manila you will make POLO very happy,Your employer will have to give them all sorts of papers delaying your departure to Canada for a minimum of 2-3 months, you will make POEA very happy since you wil pay lots of fees and delay yourself some more,So if you are willing to DELAY your arrival to Canada for 4-6 months and risk losing your job if your employer cannot wait,Go for it,just remember your short vacation will punish you,but since you may miss friends or family, tell them how your vacation will cost you.Good luck

Hi BCguy,
Just wanna know if you are going to Canada on work permit, is an interview compulsory or it depends case to case..... The 3/4 months process time is for the work permit after you get the LMO or the entire process LMO and Work permit.

Thanks
Nicholas

Hi! Nicholas,

I am still waiting for my temporary working visa and I applied last November 2008. I will be working as a guest service in a 5 star hotel in Calgary.

Regarding the interview am not really sure about if there will be an interview for me in the immigration, as I said am still waiting for the Canadian embassy to send me an email. But one thing i would like to share, i have some friends who applied for their temporary working visa last sept 2008 and he got his visa last dec 2008. He said that he didn't go for any interview or medical. His working here in Dubai for many years now as a Chef. I also have one friend and his also a Chef, it took him almost 5 months (there is allot of things that he need to change in his documents) to get his temporary working visa.

Hahahaha! BCguy, I wont give them a chance. Am already spreading this threads to all of my friends who are going to Canada and I told them if they are out of the country (OUT in the Philippines) better to go straight to Canada once they got there visa, so that they dont need to pay POEA. OPPPSSS... may be there is someone from the POEA/OWWA/Philippine Govt is reading this topic and they might think another procedure so that all filipinos will need to pay all the fees even they are not in the Philippines... (you know how clever this people are when making a new rules)

For sure some one will react on this. I know usually they will answer this:

"THE GOVERNMENT OF THE PHILIPPINES AND POEA WANTS ALL FILIPINO TO REGISTER IN POEA TO MAKE SURE THAT IF THERE IS SOMETHING HAPPEN TO THEM WE ARE ABLE TO HELP THEM AND THEY WILL BE IN THE LIST OF POEA AS AN OFW. AND THEY CAN TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE MEDICAL CARE PROGRAM OF THE PHIL. GOVT short for PHIL HEALTH"

yeah.. "TAKE ADVANTAGE" who will take advantage? OFW or the Govt? hehehehheheh

Just for additional info.I got my LMO last March 15,2008 with the offer letter. The Docs was forwarded to Canadian Embassy in Adu Dhabi March 24.I got a call from Canadian Embassy for interview after 3 months (date of interview June 24)after the interview you will come to know if you passed or fail. The working visa will be stamp in your passport at the same day valid for 24 months (LOW SKILL PILOT).Then you can fly anytime you want(flew from Dubai to canada to avoid hazzle).Upon arrival to canada again you will be issued a new working permit stating the validity of your stay starting the date of arrival to canada.

Just a thought it may help.

Cool! Thanks for the info. I believe that you’re in Canada now and if you don’t mind what is your job? It’s almost 3 months now since I applied for my temporary working visa in Abu Dhabi. (Nov 9, 2008 I passed my application) and until now I haven’t heard anything from them.

When you applied in Abu Dhabi did they inform you how long it will take?

One of my Friend applied last march 2008 also and he was informed max of 3 to 4 months and when I applied last Nov 9, 2008 they informed me that I need to wait maximum of 6 months. Again I have a friend told me that she applied last month (Jan 2009) and she was informed that she needs to wait for maximum of 9 months. (May be because there are a lot of applicants now a day, that’s why the timeline is getting longer).

Am praying that before the end of this month I will be able to get my visa!!! I send an email to my employer stating that am afraid to lose my job offer from them because until now I haven’t heard anything from the Canadian Embassy in Abu Dhabi. But they guarantee me that they are willing to wait for 8 months and they do understand that there is a lot of application for Canadian embassy. I really hope I won’t lose the Job offer.

I hope I could get the visa and hoping for the best.

Thanks Leahb!
