Applications processed in Pretoria

thanks sweertime- i read the article but i guess it wont apply to me since my medicals were actually 1st done in Jan 2011, i will wait for the ambassy to call me or send me an email requesting renewal of the medicals...how long do these medicals take now? with the new london processing?

please clarify anyone if possible, how long the police clearing is valid for? might need to renew that as well.

i really am not too sure why my file has taken so far, pretoria received the file is september 2011 , i received the acknolegment letter in December 2011 only and the they requested the additinal doc in May 2012...

You are concerned that your case is taking longer than some of us here,but you have to understand that each case is different and the embassy will do some backgrounds checks and acessing your case. Maybe you could order your caips notes to see what the hold up is.
Regarding the medicals and police clearance, in my opinion you should do it right away and not wait for the embassy to ask you,since they expired already.
You then could send a letter with the police clearance explaining why you are sending new ones.
its just my opinion,since i've seen cases like this one,where the embassy asks for an additional document only(knowing that the medicals have expired),then a couple of weeks or months later they ask for the medicals. its just to avoid any unnecessary delays.

It might just be a good idea to follow IndianOcean's advice, if you don't further delays.

Regarding renewing your medicals early....We tried to do it and the Doctors said we needed a different form to renew them. When my wife went to the embassy for her interviews they gave her the form she needed. I will ask her for the form number. I can understand you wanting to get this done now so that you dont delay the application further. We filed in August 2011...In know by reading this thread it can be dicouraging to know that others got it so quickly and your still waiting but hang in there...soon you'll be another one celebrating their Visa.

Regarding the Police check. The case worker at the embassy said it will be necessary to renew ours because they only accept them if they are done within a year of getting the Visa...I would strongly recommend getting it done (better safe than sorry). Good Luck

thanks for the info Chris... i called the doctor yesterday, her receptionist didn't seem to mind booking me for another check up, i guess i will cancell the booking and wait. please advise the form number i will have a good look, if i can find it online...

Please advise your time line, i cant seem to read it properly?

i applied for a visitors visa in Dec 2011 and was denied, reason being that they were going to be processing my file in a few weeks, but hey lets wait..

Hey my husband had to redo his meds as well, they emailed him a PDF of the section A form, looked like they scanned his photo on to the form and typed in his details...name, DOB, address etc... And there's a stamp over top of part of his photo ... Says Pretoria and has the date it was stamped.
It says IMM1017 on the bottom of the form.
Then they listed the doctors he could go to in Southen Africa.....

I wouldn't wait until they send you this info, just go get a new med done, And provide Pretoria with the DHL tracking number if they ask for it, as well as the reference number the Dr gives you. We knew we needed a new med done and it took them 3 months to send us this letter and the section A form to bring to the Dr. It took London 3 weeks to process the file.

Got our GCMS notes emailed today (took exactly 30 days). 29pages of info, nothing terribly exciting, officer's recount of our relationship (where n when n how we met, wedding stuff) and after tht just his opinion that with the documents provided, our marriage seemed "bona fide". Police n medical were "passed". They had a record of every email in their correspondance with us and every email my husband sent to them. (Funny how they document them but don't bother replying!) Anyway, for those tht have doubts abt their application, might be worthwhile getting them. Only $5.

LOL, I got mine yesterday.....31 pages of almost totally useless information. But atleast the keypoints are there. They agree marriage is geniune which is paramount as this is usually the only unknown factor blocking your way to a spousal visa. I can't wait to finally be through with this!

Yes, the notes are very long and they don't tell you very much at times. I wish they were written in such a way people can easily unterstand them. This makes me wonder whether they have other sets of notes with more details that are not available to us.

These instructions seem really good. I will make one note though and that is that if you pay online then you can simply email the forms and receipt to: atip-aiprp @ cic.gc.ca instead on snail mailing them. That is how I did it and I received my notes 22 days later. If you have any additional questions please ask.


**also I would note that you can make the request as the sponsor if you are living in Canada...I can't remember your circumstances**
