Does anybody know what should we do after receiving PER?

Hi All,

I have an urgent querry -- we have sent the application in Oct 2010 and now have received the file number, however meanwhile my passport got damaged and I requested for a new passport. I have now a new passport with me along with the old one which has been canceled now. So the passport number on the application file is not same as my current(new) passport number now. Do we need to update the change in passport number now or when it asked by CHC?

I have dispatched my file for FSW with AEO on 21th December 2010 from, India via DHL and which was recieved by CIC office on 29th December. I have email them for the status of my application and they haave send me reply after five days tht:

RE: FILE# Bxxxxxxxxx

Be advised application is currently awaiting review.

I think we better change the column AOR communication waiting (in days) in the ND spreadsheet to something more appropriate (in months) or even (in years) perhaps.

I know that we did the correct IELTS, so that doesn't explain why we are still waiting. Another query is in, so waiting for the results.
I have a copy of the pack we sent with copies of all the documents, so if we have to submit at least we have that.

Hi Mayank,

I know what you are talking about. I took it from HDFC Bank and had to provide them the format on my own.
They were kind enough to use the same language and details I wanted and as a result of that It was accepted fine by CIO.
I have a scanned copy of that and i can provide you the format, But maybe you will have to wait till tomorrow as I don't have the letter with me at the moment.

This is what I got from my bank on their letterhead. You can tweak this a bit to adjust your details:-

To Whom So Ever It May Concern
This is to certify that Mr XYZ holds a savings account number: - 1234567890 under the customer ID 123456 with the HDFC Bank since DD/MM/YYYY. The closing Balance in the above mentioned savings account as on DD/MM/YYY is INR XXXXXXXXXXX/-

Under the customer ID 123456, following Fixed Deposits are linked:-

FD Number Principal Amount
11111111 123456789
22222222 987654321
33333333 246802468


The sum of Principal amount of above mentioned fixed deposits & the saving bank account balance is: - INR YYYYYYYYYYY/-
This certificate is issued on specific request of account holder without any risk and responsibilities on the part of bank or any of its signing officials.

Finally heard from CIO....I had taken Academic IELTS....now I need to do the General Module and send the original in 120 days!!! They are working....just working very very slowly....
This refers to your application for permanent residence to Canada which was received at this office on XX XXXX 2010
At the initial assessment of your application, we have determined that you have included an Academic IELTS test result with your application. However, only the General Training IELTS test results are acceptable for immigration to Canada. For additional information, please check our website at: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/language-testing.asp
In order to continue the assessment of your applications, you must submit the following document:
IELTS test original results – GENERAL TRAINING option (not Academic option)
You have 120 days from the date of this letter to submit an original “General Training” IELTS test result. Your application will be assessed based on the information submitted.
Failure to submit the General Training IELTS test result within the next 120 days may result in your application being refused.

hey everyone...i think this is great, atleast CIO is giving applicants second chance by informing them about what is wrong in their application.

unlike those that we have seen with the initial batch of applications that got returned just coz of small mistakes....guess they have realised that 20,000 applications won't be received......

hey guyz.. i saw this in another post...look at the time frame of this application....just less than a year though this is a pre june apllicant....

seems like CIO is trying to clear the pre june applicants first... thought might help those wandarin how long the actual processing time will be...

Do it both, try to write it to CIO now and after receiving PER to your VO. It is not a big problem. Don't worry.
