I dont have birth certificate in my home country.

Is birth certificate must and should ?

It is a necessary but some time VO requirement vary. If your VO asks for a birth certificate then arrange one.

Attach your educational certificate or else where birth data is available. Do send it with explanation letter mentioning reason for not able to provide birth certificate

If you are having your birth certificate then its good to have it.

But you don't have that then I think there will be no any problem for applying because you are having your educational documents and your passport..

According to me, passport is enough to show birth related matters.

Don't worry. many old people are not having their birth certificates though they are going abroad.

Things have changed a bit. Go through the NEW check list.
Many have got requests for Birth Certificates. zulkfal has said it right, depends on the Visa Office and Officer.

The letter I received (for medicals and RPRF) has a coloumn (to be ticked) stating and asking for Birth Cert.

In my opinion, with such a short CAP, better to send / make birth Cert. Rest is offcourse your choice, depending on the circumstances.

Try to follow the Check-List as much as you can, deviate only when you have no other choice. Will save you a lot of time and any negative results.

For Birth Certificate it says:

Identity and Civil Status Documents
You must provide the following documents for you and your spouse or common-law partner
• Birth certificates;
