Hello!

Yes you can as long as may proof ka na may visa na si spouse po. In our case, we have separate flights kasi gusto namin may work na si missis bago sila pumunta dito and sa awa ni Lord, may nakuha naman siya agad while applying online and waiting for her visa.

Dati wala but apparently, baka kaka-18 lang nung kapangalan niya hehe

kung desidido po kayo, I suggest basahin ninyo po yung mga experience ng members dito kasi matututo po kayo sa mga mistakes and steps that they took to get approval. This is ofcourse under the pretense na gusto ninyo talaga pumunta po dito.

Wish us luck guys!

Or they refuse you right away? My application is almost 8 weeks na.. Waiting for the result is so depressing. #fingerscrossed
You might get refused until you are approved. If along the way nakita nila na di ka genuine student rerefuse ka na. So mas matagal mas mataas chance mo for approval.
Fact is, they don't approve right away.

Hi seniors, meron po alung tanong.Im planning to apply a student permit din po. Planu konpo isama na sa application ko my husband and my baby. kapagka po ba nagstart napo aku apply for student visa, saby narin ang family ko sa application?o dapat aku po muna una mag submit nang application doe student visa din once approved tsaka ko namn iaaply asawa at anak ko po?maraming salamat po.
If you have a very good ties sa Philippines, employment and such, pwede mo na sila isama pero kung mahina ang ties mo best is magapply ka magisa then kapag nasa Canada kana saka mo na sila kunin.

Actually, our chief of hospital called me just now that he received an email or letter from embassy confirming my employment. Kabahan na ba ako? My chance ba for approval? Waiting for the result is so depressing.
It means your case is still fighting and not yet refuse. Probably nasa last stage na yan. Relax a bit.

Exactly.
If you want to save money, not hire a consultant, then try to read the whole tread or maybe half of it.
All the information is here.

Will power lang yan.

peej, i think working for fulltime requires that you are on a "school break" and since your school hasn't started yet, baka there is no "break" yet ;D

Saan ka nga ulit sa Canada, peej06?
EDIT: Ayyy, duhhh, Calgary ka pala. My sister lives there.

If you have not started school yet, you are not allowed to work fulltime OR part time. So start working when you officially start school. Mahirap na magkaproblema.

My advice to you - when you are starting work is to go to the stores around your community and personally hand in your resume. I got my first job that way (in No Frills) ... I now work in Loblaws :)
Most of the part-time jobs are advertised online, especially sa mga grocery stores and shops - off the top of my head, these are the companies you can apply to online:
Walmart, Loblaws, Shoppers Drug Mart, Cineplex / Scene, McDonald's

Yung mga ok for walk-in: No Frills, Dollarama, Metro

Also, you will need to um .... simplify your resume if you have professional experience back home. This means tanggalin mo sa job descriptions mo yung high-level tasks for example, if you are applying for a part-time job. You can even simplify your job title (ex. Marketing Manager to Marketing Supervisor ....)
Two, always write a cover letter along with your resume or else it won't be noticed or it will be thrown away.
Three, when looking for a job, make a plan. Everyday, make a list of stores you want to submit to and then make a travel plan. Yes, ganun katindi.
Lastly, don't be discouraged if at first no one calls you. Ganun talaga dahil nag-aadjust ka pa sa bagong bayan lol but they will come. It took me almost two months to find a good job. Nobody called me at first, medyo nakakadiscourage, pero once may tumawag na, sunod-sunod na ang tumawag, I even had to turn a few jobs down lol. I started working in October 2015 and have been working steadily since! :)

Good luck!

8 weeks is still normal processing time according to the CIC website. Don't stress out too much ;) There's no set time for refusal either so relax lang.
If they asked your employer about you, it means your case is moving along.
I know how it feels na medyo kabahan habang nag-aantay. Pasensya lang talaga. After submitting your application, you've done all you can. As my professor here says, trust the process :D

Pag lumampas na ng 8 weeks, say nag-10 weeks na, you can use the Case Specific Inquiry on the website.

Almost 60 days processing ng visa so earlier the better.
Now, if they don't want to release you a letter of acceptance wala ka magagawa dun kasi kapag wala kang letter of acceptance from school denied agad application mo.
You need that letter of acceptance from that school so gawin mo kung ano hinihingi nila.
There are school who does not require IELTS.

I'm really thankful for this forum because I wouldn't have known about the post grad work permit issues if not for the information on this thread. I almost applied to a private school (that wasn't a degree granting institution) and that would have made me ineligible for a PGWP, sayang sana yung aaralin ko. So, thank you to all those who provide info on this forurm! :)

In my own small attempt to give back, just sharing that St. Luke's Extension Clinic in BGC accepts credit card as payment. I remember asking here before about modes of payment sa St. Luke's, so now I can confirm that they accept cash and credit card. I did my upfront medical exam last Wednesday and I paid for the exam fee in cash while the additional tests I paid for using my credit card.
