My American wife is pregnant, due in December, 2012. Our application was sent March 19th, tracking number says it arrived March 21st, 2012, so I'm not yet approved to sponsor her. She's here on a six month Visitor's Record, expires in October.
Couple of questions:
Must I inform CIC of the pregnancy?
Our child will, of course, be a Canadian Citizen by birth, as the child will be born in Canada if the extension is granted when we apply for it, which we're hoping to do once we receive Sponsorship Approval, which we hope is within the next 2 or 3 weeks, as we're already sitting at 71 days since we sent it in.
We were hoping to travel to the States in October. If we're granted the extension on her Visitor's Record, could she be denied entry back into Canada even with the VR?
Would her then very visible pregnancy be a liability at the border crossing? In other words, would they try to keep her from birthing in Canada?
Thanks for any input!
