Good morning. I was born in and am a citizen of the United States. I relocated to Canada in July 2016 as a visitor. I married a Canadian citizen in February 2017 and filed for a visitor extension, which was granted through April 2018. I have been back to visit the United States only one time (for 6 days total). Otherwise, I have been living in Canada since July 2016. Am I considered to be a legal resident of the United States, although I have not actually lived in the US for nearly 15 months? I have done research online but cannot seem to find a valid and satisfactory answer. Any help you can provide will be much appreciated.
