Good morning. I was born in and am a citizen of the United States. I relocated to Canada in July 2016 as a visitor. I married a Canadian citizen in February 2017 and filed for a visitor extension, which was granted through April 2018. I have been back to visit the United States only one time (for 6 days total). Otherwise, I have been living in Canada since July 2016. Am I considered to be a legal resident of the United States, although I have not actually lived in the US for nearly 15 months? I have done research online but cannot seem to find a valid and satisfactory answer. Any help you can provide will be much appreciated.

(This is Canada immigration forum but I will try)
Since you are citizen of US, you should have constitutional right to enter and leave US without any restriction. (Unlike PR where there is residency obligation to fulfill and could lose PR status if it's not met)

You may have other implication like tax and social benefits etc., but the border officer should not stop you (unless you are bringing in things you shouldn't bring...)

You are a US Citizen, not a legal permanent resident of the US. You can come and go from the US and not worry about residency requirements or anything like that.
