I'm starting this thread to share ideas what's gonna happen next and what are the alternative ways to get in Canada after they have paused the application for FSW category. Pls share your thoughts. Thanks! ??? ;D  :p

I myself was disappointed of this announcement. I have set everything and ready to submit.. But on the other hand, I just hope Mr. Kenney has a better ideas in the next immigration process. Just He should have announced it earlier like 3 months, or even 1 month earlier from JUNE 28!! So that as early as those times people would have started backing up and pulling out their files and stop completing their docs for FSW category..

Few Options:
- ask employers to sponsor you, this channel is still open.
- if you are below certain age, you can apply for work experience visa (working holiday visa). it allows you to work anywhere for 2 years.
- enroll for a short term course and try to seek employment after the course.

Thanks 2good2betrue, yeah I've been hearing lots of things about employment offer...but does this mean you are under PR when you get there? Or working visa? If you are on working visa? When can you apply for PR? thanks

Hello,

Both options are available.

1) Temporary Visa = Work Permit. This can workout with agents who help you finding a job and offer a work permit, provided the employer can get approval from government.

2) PR Visa = Employer sponsors you directly with approval from government.

If you are young are really wanting to go there, the most easiest option is getting an education. enroll for a short course, if you are enrolling for courses that are in high demand for job offers (electrical, pluming, welding, carpenter) then there is a high chance that you will get sponsored after your education and will have a PR from day one. But this is high risk option, but payoff is great. People succeed not by hardwork but how much risk they take and how they manage their risks.

Option 2 is difficult if you are overseas.

Ic, you have good options there. Do you think we(the fsw applicants) should just wait for 6 mos before applying again? This is just soo difficult after all of the preparations we have made.... :'( :( ???

Thanks for the information!
Could you explain more in detail about the short courses? Do you mean community college?

I am not sure about how it works for your country, please speak to the local Canadian Embassy or check if here for more details --> http://www.international.gc.ca/experience/intro_incoming-intro_entrant.aspx?lang=eng&view=d

In my country, i followed the process as defined on https://www.whpcanada.org.au/ and applied. i now have a working holiday visa, i can go there and work for 2 years without any issues.

its a very process.

Stay home or go to Europe it's better than wasting time and money, ask the people around you who went overseas

Yes, get a working holiday visa, but I heard some nationalities abuse this visa, for example, Korean prostitutes taking over Australia, Canada, and USA. What a shame!

I Do qualify for 1 year stay! that's a great find but my partner doesn't qualify since she is from China, i wonder if we can get married during my stay so she could be with me traveling in that year. And hopefully Up our chance in getting PR.

No need to. She can apply for political asylum, claiming that she is a follower of Falun Gong: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/world/are-schools-too-eager-to-forge-chinese-ties/article4353705/?cmpid=rss1. What a f--king joke this is!
