It has to be a real job offer so you have to get it from an employer. You can look for an employer either by using the internet or by going to Alberta as a visitor, reading ads in the papers and visiting companies.

It is usually not easy because it is extra work for the employer to do this paperwork so if they could hire a PR or a Canadian off the street instead, they would prefer that.

There are two methods to get PR through AINP as an employee:

1. You are not in Canada but an employer applies to sponsor you through AINP and you apply for your PR without being in Canada. Downside for the employer here is that he is basically doing you a favour by doing the paperwork for you. He will have to wait for months before you get your PR and when you do, he has no guarantee that you will come and work for him.

2. You are in Canada on a work permit and your employer applies to sponsor you through AINP. Advantages for the employer is that you will work for him while he is holding the carrot in front of your nose that you will be sponsored and you will stay during the processing of your application because if you quit, you will lose it. The disadvantages are the you will need a work permit first and in order to get a work permit, the employer has to prove that he could not find a Canadian or PR qualified for your job even though he is offering market rates. Another disadvantage is that a bad employer can make use of your vulnerability in the situation as you want to be sponsored and he might make you show him how much, say working a lot of overtime, proving yourself for several months before he will sponsor etc. Another problem for you is that if the employer goes bankrupt or lays you off, you lose your application.
