After five years, finally got approval email

The webform submissions I made were on the order of "We haven't seen any further action in our status in more than a month. Is there anything we can do to facilitate anything you may still need?"

I tried to be really polite and wait at least 30 days.

Rough timeline
-Fall 2016 IELTS and education submission. Draws start getting higher.
-Winter 2017 decided to get master's degree in Canada for more points
-Summer 2017 original plan to start master's postponed due to personal events
-Winter 2018 started master's program
-Winter 2019 completed master's program, but draw scores had gone up too high.
-Winter/Spring 2019 waiting for Ontario master's PNP to open up, spending every day on computer because projected to fill within an hour. Ontario's website screws up and original submission not accepted. Reopens in March or April. Submission accepted.
-July 2019 PNP approved. Discover that I can't just get the points in Express Entry, but have to submit paper application with 17 month projected completion (January 2021).
-2020 Covid happens, January 2021 expected completion shifts to April 2021.
-April/May 2021 Polite inquiry about status. Response is 20% of applications take longer.
-June 2021 Medical exam requested, submitted, and approved
-Early August 2021 Another polite inquiry. Ask if I can facilitate getting them any missing information. Mid August response that they have what they need.
- Saturday August 28 Receive email with approval and portal information request. CIC website says update on main page but details still say decision in progress.
- Sunday August 29 Receive another email with approval and portal information request with date changed on letter. CIC website no longer says update on main page and still says decision in progress.
- Monday August 30 Receive PPR email. CIC website still says decision in progress. Got pictures and arranged SASE for return of papers.
- Tuesday August 31 CIC website still says decision in progress. Mailing pics and passport copies today (copies are standard for US citizens).

Oh my gosh, I can't believe they didn't add the baby quickly. They want more children!

I do understand how you are feeling about the wait never ending. I sent my photos in by International Registered Mail and it hasn't arrived yet. I may get new pictures and send fedex Friday.

OMG, I got the notification today that 2 weeks later, the letter has finally gone from PA to the NY distribution center. Note to everyone - Do not use US international registered mail.
