Address required at the port of entry for delivering PR Card

Hello Guys,

I will land in Calgary (AB) soon. Will an immigration officer ask my address for delivering my PR CARD? Currently I do not have any address. Moreover, I will leave Canada within a week.

1. Can I use my friend address? She lives in Edmonton (AB).
2. Is it possible if I apply for my PR card after immigration clearance?

Another question, will an immigration officer count my funds at the port of entry manually?

Please advise.

give your friend's address in Edmonton. He/she can receive PR card and mail it to you.

may or may not. depends upon the officer. you need to be prepared.

You may chose to tell the visa officer that you would be leaving after 1 week and dont have an address at the moment. He will finish all formalities but, not issue a PR card. You can later enter the country on travel documents issued by CHC and apply for PR card later.

You can give your friends address but if you tell them that you are leaving in a week and will not be staying at this address, they may choose to not issue you a PR card right away. Like aanbaan said, you can enter later on your travel documents and apply for a PR card when you are in Canada to stay.

It's easier to just use your friend's address and not mention that you are leaving in a week. When the PR Crd comes, your friend can mail it to you and you can come back without any problems.

As per counting funds, the Immigration officer didn't count my funds; she just asked how much cash I was carrying. She only asked to see the bank statements showing additional funds required.
