Hi All,
My timeline so far:

Program: PR PNP (Ontario)
AOR: 17-Apr-2017
IP1 & Med passed already
IP2: 22-Sep-2017

I recently found out that my application was being processed by London Visa Office. So I sent them an email about status of my application. They replied with following:

Please note that your application is undergoing additional background checks. These are ongoing and cannot be expedited.

Rest assured that we will be in contact once these checks are completed.

Is this the dreaded "security screening"?
I will order gcms now but they will arrive after a month.

Additional background checks are famous for being notoriously slow.
Brace yourself mate. You are up for a long run.
If you do not have any issues in your personal history, this will be just fine though.
It will take some time, but then they will issue your PR.
Good luck!

Thanks, do you have any idea how long it usually takes? do you have any trackers that are on the same boat?

I have no idea on how long it could take. I think it depends on individual cases.
If you look at the thread about "applications not processed within 6 months" or something along those, you should find other applicants stuck at this stage.
I must tell you that, trying to 'match' your case with someone else's will not do any good for you.
Also, taking stress over this will be nothing but harmful to your health!
Take a step back, try to relax and wait.

Good luck!
