ACTIVITY STATUS - BACKGROUND VERIFICATION

My application has been under process for almost 6 months and everything except background verifications has been completed. Is there anyone else over here that has the message "ACTIVITY STATUS UPDATED - background verification" PLEASE reach out to me. I believe IRCC has placed my file for comprehensive security checks. I have discovered this through inspecting the tracker on chrome and finding a code 17 which relates to security screening. Please help me confirm my fears that my application is undergoing additional security checks.


My visa office is Abu Dhabi.

Hi there, I received my student visa last year for May '23 intake. My visa office was Abu Dhabi too. I kind of had a similar issue with my application. After submitting application online, everything showed completed in 2-3 days, except when it came to BG check. That took like almost a month if not more.
I hope your application gets through asap too!
