Acknowledgement Letter

Hello all,

I applied to sponsor my husband under Family Class Sponsorship's two weeks ago. CIC changed a couple of applications, but nothing major. I have tried to look up in the fourms the time it takes to receive the acknowledgement letter and most posts go back to two years (They say it takes around 2 months). I was hoping to know if anyone can tell me how long it will most likely take under the new system, so we know when will we most likely apply for him to get a visitor visa.

Mine took 3 weeks to get from receipt at CPC Mississauga to AOR by email in July 2016. I have heard that sometime there is no acknowledgement at all and the first they hear is sponsor approval (but then SA seems to take 30 - 60 days at the moment, so not a biggie).

It took us to get AOR 54 days.... CIC got docs on Oct 19,2017 and AOR was got on Dec 12, 2017. Applied under Family Sponsorship. Unfortunately you cannot find this info on CIC site. But going through tones of comment the average time is 50-90 days to hear from them.

And who receives the approval in principle sponsor or applicant?

Only principal applicant (person being sponsored )receives AOR, and sponsor gets separate email that documents are in process. Not sure what approval do you mean?

same here, I'm July applicant still waiting AOR2 from VO. file has been transfer in October 16, 2017.
