Hello friends,

I have a problem related to my birth certificate. In our period of birth there was no any provision to give birth certificate in my country. So that I don't have birth certificate. I have my citizenship certificate and passport. In this respect, could I use this one for complete application. My visa office asks for the birth certificate. In this situation what could I do?

Please share some ideas.

Do you have a census bureau in your home country? Or any government office which keeps statistics of population etc? You could ask this office to write for you a letter stating that during your time of birth, certificates were not issued... and maybe they can also write down in the same letter that they attest that your name is __________ and that you were born on ___________. You can even check the hospital where you were born if they still have a record of your birth and you can ask for a copy of this.

A citizenship certificate isn't exactly a birth certificate is it? Just my two cents... its what I'd do if I were in your situation.

Good luck and keep us posted :)

Hi,
Do you have grade 10 or twelve certificate with date of birth on it. They know the situation of the country where they are working. You will not be the only candidate from that country. They did not ask me for the birth certificate. Just send whatever you have as a proof of date of birth.

Good luck,

Ask your parents to go to a Notary,Lawyer or Solicitor or "(KICHERI)" and give an affidavit. That should do the job.

Where are you applying from?If you are in US right now then you can request Birth certificate from Indian Consulate in your city. That's what we did.

I got mine from the consulate but they are really shabby.
So, I am thinking whether to send these originals as-is or notarized copies.

is the sending of birth certificate compulsory?

Yes, if you have one.
If you don't have one, try and get one.
If you cannot get one from your country or it's foreign consulate, then like I said, If your parents are still living, ask them to give you an Affidavit with respect to age.
If your parents are not living, take your passport to a "Notar" in Germany, explain the situation to him and swear an oath stating your age.

Will you please tell us your Country of Birth? So that people from that country can help you.
