Hi newbies here,

I went to canada on 2006 using visitor visa(tourist) and decided to apply as a refugee. I got my ID, SSN#, workpermit(temporary). On May 2007 i leaved canada without leaving any notice to Canadian immigration and now i'm in my home country.
Anybody here have any experience like this?
Would i be qualified to apply under skilled worker program???
thanks before hand.

Sure you can apply under skilled worker category if you qualify, but there is another program that can take you back to Canada, you can check info at this website: http://www.ontarioimmigration.ca/english/pnpquestions.asp#applicants and there you will find something thata textually says:

Are refugee claimants eligible to apply to the Pilot PNP as nominees?

Refugee claimants who have a failed refugee claim or have withdrawn their claim are able to apply to the Pilot PNP only after they have left Canada. Refugee claimants with pending applications to remain in Canada are not eligible to apply to the Pilot PNP.

so, take your chances and good luck

I am guessing that you will have to withdraw your current refugee claim first.
They might not even be aware that you already left the country.

I am not sure if abandoning your refugee protection without notifying them will help your case though.

All the best!
