I am a Canadian citizen by naturalization, I have two sons and they both were born in Vietnam. I've applied proof of Canadian citizenship for them in Oct/2008 at Canadian consulate in Vietnam, all of the application requirements were done at that time, including DNA test and I was informed the time frame was 10-12 months.
I called the Call cetre after 12 months of waiting to inquire about the cases and was told that my son cases has been forwarded to the program support unit for review and I simply have to wait, no time frame, no reason why.
It has now been over 16 months and my son cases are still not finalize yet.
I would like to ask if anyone can advise why the cases has been sent for review and what is the processing time for this type of cases or what I need to do to expedite the situation.
