6 Bands for International in Canada

My Overall band is 6. I give it on 20th october.

My Question is this ,,, rather its fine? I was expecting minimum 7 bands but.... Anyhow.. I want to persue my masters or post graduate diploma in graphic or digital media.... is there any cheap public university or college regarding that? How much universities are flexible regarding Ielts? Because i saw some universities are asking 6-6.5 but where i found some courses they are asking 6.5.....!!

for pg u need 6.5 uni may accept ypu bt ambessy fules are strict so according to me try again in ielts btw bst of lck for ur future

if you get admission in good university like comcordia or dalhousie .no one care about IELTS . you have to just show that your language of instruction in bachelor is English . it will fill the gap of IELTS . good luck .

Apply in well recognized Uni only , not in college ! Some uni will accept you but they will ask you to take esl programme ..

Thanks Danial... I heared from my friend who is in canada that even people with 5.5 bands are there in canada.... i need to take part in ESL or i have to pass more tests over there before i go for further studies any idea how much they take for esl??

first of all, u need to decide which intake are u interested in? if u r going for fall 2013 where most courses are offered by most universities then you have plenty of time for improving half ielts band score so sit the test again...and then apply for a univ. getting enrolled in a esl program is all crap....plus top notch universities like concordia or waterloo or univ of toronto or etc requires either 6.5 or 7.0 band....so there u go...you are not going to get an admission there unless or until you are a A/O level student etc

Thanks Rockers... You are really helping. are u in Canada??.... Actually may be I am not thinking on the point to re sit on the IELTS..... I feel like its a matter of luck.. though i concentrate on ielts for 2 months and try to get it as much as i can but invain.. yes I wil definately try for improving my half band as i see almost al universities are asking for 6.5 Bands...

Thnaks...... actually i live in dubai and i need to go to my country regarding getting my transcripts and recomendations from my professors.. my medium of instruction though was english in my 4 years graduation...!!

I did 4 year graduation back home country!!!

That did not count since lectures are given in hodge podge of urdu and english at pak universities.

if u r going for masters sorry to say 6 band is not enough

there will be issues as well with your study permit.

visa officer can refuse ur case based on having modest/insufficient language skills required for your course

for a reason univs have set 6.5 band as a benchmark for international students
