To snehasis21,
you are right, they are giving this message to all CHC.
Very unfair, injustice with all of us.

IMHO, it might not be absolutely true, 'coz one of the basic purpose for the 29 NOC list & the Cap/s is to reduce fresh applications & clear-up the backlog, which is pending since 2002 in many CHCs.

How can you see fast processing for backlog cases after 26th June 2010 policy. The 26 June policy only announced another fast track without any policy on how and when to clear backlog cases. It will further slow down the processing immigration cases of backlog as it will eat up 29,000 visa which would have otherwise gone to backlog cases. See how it works Delhi has some 10,000 to 12000 FSW quota (I not sure of the exact number). First Delhi has to keep enough visa of post feb 2008, 39 category and then they have to keep enough visa quota for post 26th June 2010 and the left-over (if any) will be given to the backlog cases. This is simple maths as the fast track 39 catgory and new current fast track 29 category have to be processed within 1 year.

Will things improve? Yes. When? After about two years ie when post feb 2008, 39 category is finalised in its entirity and Canada does not come-up with another third most current fast track after two years. Untill such a time backlog continues to suffer. But well life is not fair and neither is Canadian immigration.

You are right timelines will further increase at the expriy of 90 months ie around June/July2011. This time it is sure Delhi will touch 100+ months to finalise cases of backlog

Kenney is a politician and is doing what most irresponsible politician do.
He has made a mockrey of the Canadian immigration system and his department.

A backlog of anytime more than a couple of years is unhealthy for the country:

1. Future immigrants loose faith in the system and opt for other means to get entry (illegal means)
2. Government has to spend millions to stop illegal immigration.
3. Any immigrant who lands in the country after waiting for 7 to 10 years has spent a chunk of his productive life waiting. The Country looses these man hours.
4. Dissuades future skilled workers to chose Canada for immigration, they rather choose other countries with faster an more transparent immigration systems.
5. Migrants would take medical and retirement benefits 7 to 10 years earlier.
6. Migrants get 7 to 10 years less time to settle in the Canadian way of life.
7. Migrant's children loose competitive edge by not having Canadian education for that period.
8. The job markets change and the profession in demand are no longer in demand.
9. This reflects the inefficiency of the government as a whole.
10. Defeats the real purpose of Skilled worker immigration.

Now that the old Fast track is also scrapped, as many of the occupation which were in demand are no more in demand, the back log created by this should be behind the older backlog as both are those applicants whose skills and occupations are no longer in demand.
Then why is the old fast track back log being given priority over those waiting longest?

Is Kenney making a fool of just the old back log applicants or is he also making a mockery of the immigration system and his department and even the opposition MPs and parliament where he said "they will get priority who have waited longest"
Or he has made Canada as a country, look foolish and actually fooling the citizen of his own country.
Now the Canadian citizen are paying for his trips across the world to stop illegal immigration and also for immigrants coming after 8 to 10 years and going straight for benefit money as their professions are no longer in demand.
If Kenney cannot run the immigration department efficiently, he should step down to let some one else do the job. We believe actually Kenney's skills of being an ineffective politician are no longer in demand!!

Dear Quorax,

I am 2006 Old Applicant New Delhi CHC. I want to know from you tht do you really think that CIC is really interested in clearing backlog after 26 june rules. Well till now no progess is seen by us. Please share your fact on it.

Mayank
Dear Mayank,

I cannot state the facts, but can only opine... It sure looks like the current stance on PR is weighed towards clearing the backlog, rather than taking-in new applications.

Canada definitely needs new immigrants - in hordes. It's vastly under populated & the current baby boomers shall run out of steam - soon. More than us they need our kids here, aka first generation citizens... Jobs r galore, much of the terrain needs to be harnessed, there's huge potential for infrastructure development... They need hands - everywhere. So, why do u think they have limited the new apps?

Uh yes, time it'd take for the old cases, 'coz w/out severe background & security checks no one would be brought-in, & files r in heaps - some pending scrutiny returns (from external agencies), some hitting the dust (for admin reasons), while some r in long queues for final reviews. The combinations r matrixed. But they r getting at it - certainly.

The current immigration policy is not flawed, it had been deeply deliberated upon & definitely seems to be drawn towards the old backlogs. The lawmakers r actually doing a good job at it.

Just hold your horses - the silverline is sure around the corner!
