People dont fixate on Canada, they weigh their options and explore possibilities and make decisions based on that. Im guessing most folks in this forum did, thats why they are in Canada. Why would OP not do the same thing?

Also Canada literally spends millions of dollars every year to ensure the world is convinced they are top 3 countries in the world to immigrate to, so it would be weird to not consider Canada.

Most of all it is interesting to me that the significance of Canada as a refuge only seems to be named when folks from a specific region or background are considering moving here.

In a nutshell you just described asylum shopping

People in dire straights , fearing for their lives don’t “ explore possibilities “
And you’re confusing people who “ immigrated “ using one of the streams available, versus those using claiming asylum as an alternate method to immigrate.
