We just found out the time it takes to obtain police clearance from Japan, which is about 2-3 months on average (we were told). The Visa office in the Philippines is giving us 45 days to gather the docs they need plus the submission of my husband's original passport. I e-mailed a request to them to extend the submission for that particular doc from 45 to more and when I e-mailed them initially on March 8, we received an e-mail informing us they have received it and at the same time we received another e-mail that the sent failed. I tried phoning the embassy in the Phils but it's no help. They will not help you at all. I just e-mailed them again and included that failed sent e-mail we received last Sat. We didn't get any bounce back since my last e-mail but the immigration here suggested that we submit whatever paperwork we have and include the e-mails I sent them. We should be able to submit everything including my husband's original passport by end of this week by courier. Hoping everything will work out by then.
