Hello everyone, I have a question. You guys have a lot of experience on this and I have none.

I wanna apply for •0631 Restaurant and Food Service Managers but my doubt is that im not sure I full the requirements, i mean, i was a manager in a Dairy Queen for 2 years in mexico. Do you guys think this is enough?

I am so scared to spend money and not getting anything. I applied as a cook before and was rejected since my consultant didnt made the labour market opinion and they didnt consider my job offer.

Any advice, this time I wanna do it by myself and with your help if you all let me :) Thank you in advance

dont know where to start

This is how CIC looks at the duties and responsibilities of restaurant managers...if you did all these things and can provide reference letters which confirm this you will probably be fine

Main duties

Restaurant and food service managers perform some or all of the following duties:

Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of a restaurant, bar, cafeteria or other food or beverage service
Determine type of services to be offered and implement operational procedures
Recruit staff and oversee staff training
Set staff work schedules and monitor staff performance
Control inventory, monitor revenues and modify procedures and prices
Resolve customer complaints and ensure health and safety regulations are followed
Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies
Negotiate arrangements with clients for catering or use of facilities for banquets or receptions.

Employment requirements

Completion of a college or other program related to hospitality or food and beverage service management is usually required.

Several years of experience in the food service sector, including supervisory experience, are required.

Additional information

Progression to senior management in food service is possible with experience.

For the purpose of FSW, the officer's are not to take into account your education. Education points ARE important for gaining total points toward the 67 minimum, but as far as "requiring" certificates/degrees, etc they are not counted - only your JOB DUTIES.
Refer to the Guide http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG72.asp and Operations Manual 6 http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op06-eng.pdf
Be sure you are using the most up to date application forms and compare them to the ones in current use immediately BEFORE you send your application in (just in case they have changed since you began filling them out). Good Luck!
