£ to Indian Rupee to Canadian $

Hi

As of today 1 £ = 86 Rs (higest i seen in 7 year )

Here if for e.g i Change 20000 £ to Canadian $ Draft I will not getting better then 1.55 $ for a pound .

Should i transfer all money to my NRE account in India and then after a month or two get Canadian $ draft from that money .

Will it will be any better ?

As today i can get $ 31,000 from £ 20,000
If i transfer it to rupee then I can get. Atleast 17 Lac Indian Rupee .

Can some one tell me how many Canadian $ Draft i can get from 17 Lac Indian Rupee .

As i notice that website rates are not what we actually get , if someone has made any draft today or yesterday then it can be taken as Ideal amount .

as of yesterday exchange rate INR to CAD is 1 CAD = Rs 53 , also a record all time high in many years

the buy rate, selling rate, bank commission and the currency fluctuation can become a nightmare

Well dear aquib,

I doubt conversions from £ to CAD $ via INR will fetch u good exchage,infact it might incur loss.

I enquired reg this 6mths ago for dhs ( dirhams ),my personal banking manager from hsbc had strongly discouraged me from doing so.that time my intention was to get good interest on savings.according to the info given,one need to convert INR to US$ first and then to CAD $.one looses in too many exchanges.

Like today exchange rate is 1 £ = 1.604 $
but max i can get by bank is 1.54 $ for a pound , also i needed to pay Draft charges.

If i go to Thomas cook or post office they offering $ 1.49 max

At moment Indian currencey is broken , but it wont stay like that for many weeks ,
Thats why i thought that today buy cheap rupee and then buy CAD from it after couple of Month .

But On other hand it bit riskey too i agree .
