Canadian families are complaining about their slaves' freedom. Those people should know we live-in caregivers are also taxpayers and contribute to Canada's society, we work hard and only get the minimum pay. They should at least pay some respect to us and don't treat us as slaves any more.

Thank you molo5000! I went to Service Canada this afternoon to renew my SIN card. The agent said it is ok to have a different client ID number on my new open work permit. He just called CIC and clarified it and linked two numbers together. So I got my SIN card renewed and everything seems fine...

I got my OWP today too. But I am confused, how come the client ID number in my OWP is different from the one I had on my live-in caregiver work permit before? With the remarks: pending lic APR.

I haven't got my OWP yet. I just showed my current WP which will be expired by the end of this month. Now I am unemployed. Does the appeal work? I am going to submit an appeal tomorrow.

I went to service Ontario today to renew health card. I was told to wait until I get my OWP then I can renew it. And even I get my OWP, I need to get enployment at least six months then I can get the renewal.

The applications backlog only provides data as of December 31, 2010. So I think that number doesn't include the applicants who applied for OWP and PR in 2011.

Who gets the official receipt for the Open Work Permit application before they realy get the open work permit? I got nothing confirmation letter and I just check my Ecase from the CIC website.

I tried this step by step, but only heard that "to service you better, your phone will be transferred to an agent." I waited and then heard "the line is busy now, please try again later." I tried several times and every time just the same result. I can't get an antomated answer from the phone.

Who knows when is the best time to call the CIC call centre? I tried the whole day but couldn't reach them, the line is busy all the time.

Now it is my time to do this renew OHIP thing.
