Another PPR - my wife got hers yesterday afternoon, by e-mail, from NYC. A bit unusual since it seems like they've been doing snail mail for everybody else. When they asked for our CSQ I thought they were starting the process, but I guess they were already done! What has their visa turnaround...

Wow, awesome! Maybe transfer to NYC does actually "expedite" things :) We are on a very similar timeline, so hopefully NYC is also working diligently on our file too (or will be once they get the CSQ tomorrow morning) ... we can only hope!

Well, after being transferred to NYC a few weeks back, we finally saw some action on our file... in the form of an e-mail from NYC requesting our CSQ. So Buffalo apparently did nothing for 6 months, and lost our CSQ (or never received it in the first place). The e-mail from NYC doesn't specify...

Not to mention the 4 or 5 that we already supplied when doing the medicals (this was a bit of a surprise...) So many photos... At least in Canada photo shops know what size a PR card photo is supposed to be!

It's this part that really drives me nuts. I consider the chances that they are processing applications in the order in which they were received to be slim to none.

I'm Canadian, sponsoring my wife - but I just recently moved back, so this is based on my experience moving my stuff. I think the procedures are essentially the same for immigrants as for returning citizens, but you might want to do a side-to-side comparison to make sure :)...

Indeed :) I e-mailed Buffalo to inquire about our medicals and CSQ, and they actually wrote me back! Apparently they are processing applications received on January 12th at the moment. So, it'll probably be two months before we hear from them. It's good to know, though...
