    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

Ugh. The MICC said to send the original, so we did... and then only later got an e-mail reply from NYC (who "don't answer e-mail") saying we could send a copy of it by e-mail (even though they "don't accept documents by e-mail"). Since they sent us a PPR the next day I am not really...

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

Another PPR - my wife got hers yesterday afternoon, by e-mail, from NYC. A bit unusual since it seems like they've been doing snail mail for everybody else. When they asked for our CSQ I thought they were starting the process, but I guess they were already done! What has their visa turnaround...

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

Wow, awesome! Maybe transfer to NYC does actually "expedite" things :) We are on a very similar timeline, so hopefully NYC is also working diligently on our file too (or will be once they get the CSQ tomorrow morning) ... we can only hope!

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

Well, after being transferred to NYC a few weeks back, we finally saw some action on our file... in the form of an e-mail from NYC requesting our CSQ. So Buffalo apparently did nothing for 6 months, and lost our CSQ (or never received it in the first place). The e-mail from NYC doesn't specify...

    Sadly: yes, and no :(

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

Not to mention the 4 or 5 that we already supplied when doing the medicals (this was a bit of a surprise...) So many photos... At least in Canada photo shops know what size a PR card photo is supposed to be!

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

It's this part that really drives me nuts. I consider the chances that they are processing applications in the order in which they were received to be slim to none.

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

Oh no! That's terrible - did they send you an e-mail to tell you this? Or did you have to ask them?

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

I'm Canadian, sponsoring my wife - but I just recently moved back, so this is based on my experience moving my stuff. I think the procedures are essentially the same for immigrants as for returning citizens, but you might want to do a side-to-side comparison to make sure :)...

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

No, in general they will take the truck to a warehouse in Canada where you will meet them to clear the shipment. Then they will drive it to your house. However the actual paperwork mostly takes place when you cross the border - you can do this when you land. When you cross the border you'll...

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

I e-mailed them just to check on our application and got yet another confusing reply: So, it's 20 weeks, or 30 weeks, or just whenever the heck they feel like it. Oh, and after 20 weeks, we might send it back to you. Argh!!!

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

(quoting e-mail from Buffalo) Well, that's good to know :-) Who will be the first to ask them why if creating applications is taking at least 30 weeks, people who applied in March have AORs already...?

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

This is hard to believe when you look at the table of January applicants and nearly everyone has gotten a PPR except the people from Buffalo, most of whom haven't even gotten an AOR yet. The most frustrating thing is not knowing whether there is a problem with your application because they...

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

Re: Congratulations Congratulations! However this really makes me wonder if there is something wrong with our application, not enough proof of relationship for instance... Since you apparently applied just a few days after us, and we prepaid and everything :(

    Thread for Outland, Quebec Applications!

I'm sponsoring my wife from the US... got her CSQ in March, now waiting and waiting for Buffalo. And to think, I was really worried that having to do the extra step of going through Quebec would hold up the process... They've been the quickest and most responsive link in the chain so far...

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

Every time we have crossed the border, the immigration officer has asked about my wife's PR application, or the existence thereof. Dual intent is legal and you have nothing to fear, except, as mentioned above, that they might not be convinced that you are only in Canada temporarily. Owning a...

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

So - judging from this, it sounds like in Alberta and B.C. you are able to apply for healthcare before you actually land? I suppose I can just call the RAMQ to find out (their website isn't helpful on this topic...) but does anyone know what the policy is in Quebec? My wife has her CSQ...

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

Indeed :) I e-mailed Buffalo to inquire about our medicals and CSQ, and they actually wrote me back! Apparently they are processing applications received on January 12th at the moment. So, it'll probably be two months before we hear from them. It's good to know, though...

    Thread for January 2011 Applicants

Wow, it looks like Buffalo is really far behind the other visa offices :( I got all excited/confused seeing people who had already gotten their PPR...

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

Our CSQ came in the mail yesterday. I dropped it off in person on the 15th. So, two extra weeks - not too bad. And now... we wait for Buffalo... and wait... The letter from MICC says they sent it to Buffalo on the 25th, but eCAS has nothing new, just "Application Received March 3rd". Is the...
