Thank you! You confirmed what I feared.

    Internship for a foreign student

That's what I thought. It might be obvious from the ages of the kids, but they study in vocational schools (instead of college etc.), if that makes any difference (not high enough level perhaps to steal anyone's job...). You're right, Finland doesn't have the IEC program with Canada. Based on...

    Internship for a foreign student

I'm a permanent resident in Canada and my niece and nephew, who both study in Finland, are interested in coming to Canada for a short-term (1-2 months) unpaid internship. The other one is 18 years old, studies media production and is looking for an internship in different production companies...

Unemployment Insurance on maternity leave after family sponsored PR

After reading more older posts it seems it's "common knowledge" that EI isn't considered social assistance. Does anyone know a reference to this eg. at the CIC website?

Unemployment Insurance on maternity leave after family sponsored PR

Hi all, I've been a permanent resident in Canada for over a year and have a full-time job. I'm expecting and as my work only provides an unpaid maternity leave, I'm wondering about the employment insurance (while on leave). I was sponsored by my common-law partner and he signed an undertaking...

    Medical and FBI times question

I heard that is sometimes what they do, but I assume there's no way of knowing beforehand. Like I said earlier I won't be anywhere near any physicians to do the medical if they request it during the next couple of months (and I assume they give you about 30 days to do it after they send out a...

    Medical and FBI times question

I hope you don't mind me using your message thread epmarshall! I would have posted mine with the same title, so hopefully someone can help me with my situation. FBI records: I've lived in the USA in two separate periods, the first time a bit over a year and then a bit over 6 months the second...

JUNE 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Yes! My medicals haven't been passed either even though the application was sent to London almost two months ago. I'm not sure how common this is.

JUNE 2016 - OUTLAND SPOUSAL APPLICANTS

Hi all June people! I was wondering if everybody has either Ecas or MyCIC showing that medicals are passed? We've got SA (VO London) but no mention of the medicals yet. Am I the only one? Good luck everyone!!

We got our SA July 28 but neither Ecas or MyCIC show that my medicals are passed. Just have to, again, wait I guess.

    Simple question

Oh yes, that is a long way to just to go and renew your passport. But luckily that was the only downside! I won't have to worry about getting my CoPR for some time anyway, so I'll just sit and wait. Thank you very much for your answer!

    Simple question

Okay that is good to know, thank you! I don't have to worry about my passport expiring but my medical is another story. As I stated earlier my medical will probably expire before I'll get the CoPR but I've understood VO can decide to extend it in certain cases. If they indeed extend it, will I...
