Sending money from abroad to Canadian spouse's bank account -Is it the only way?

We have something like that now between CIBC and and Korean bank called KEB. We put the money in here and it goes to Canada instantly. But we are both in Korea now. So it would be impossible to open an HSBC account from Korea. We just want to send a large sum of money one time. We are just...

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

I am one of those people who got a DM quickly. I was fully prepared for the 14 months wait. It's actually a bit harder for us having to leave so early. I really hope you get a decision soon. I couldn't imagine having to wait so long. Good luck!!

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

Moving to Toronto from Busan. Have checked out a bunch of shipping companies. It seems the cheapest one will be over 1.2 million won. We aren't sending any furniture, just clothes, books and mementos. So we are thinking Korea post is the way to go. Can anyone share their experiences with...

Can my spouse fly to Canada on a one-way ticket?

I thought having a COPR in hand would be enough, but people have said some airlines will hassle you when boarding. I guess worst case scenario would be we would have to buy him a ticket out of Canada (to the US) right at the airport (if they refused boarding)!!!

Experiences with flying with a bicycle INTERNATIONAL

Thanks for the input! Yeah, we bought both bikes for over 2000 dollars so a couple of hundred to bring as baggage is worth it to us. I think we will disassemble them and pack them in boxes. But...we have a stop in China....hopefully they just go straight through.

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

Quick question for those who have already landed. If our flight connects in Vancouver, do we have to do the landing process in Vancouver OR at our final destination (Toronto)? Also, can my husband fly on a one-way ticket with a COPR? Thanks for your help!

Experiences with flying with a bicycle INTERNATIONAL

We want to fly to Canada from Korea with our bicycles. Asiana airlines counts a bike as one piece of luggage as long as it's in a box. Other airlines charge a fee for bikes and you have to reserve a spot. Have any other people flown with their bikes? And how was your experience...

Sponsoring my Korean wife for permanent residency

Hey Marticus I included everything you mentioned above. My strategy was to go with the point that I've never really left permanently. I still have my health care. I included documentation showing that I got a new family doctor in 2013 and have kept my bank accounts, credit cards, point cards...

Hey Marticus! Thanks for the quick answer about the license. I'm from Ontario and I do believe they have a reciprocal agreement with South Korea because that's how I got my Korean license. I'll hang on to it then and get the driving abstract. And sorry...I made a typo..they requested...
