Got my an email from CHC London saying my work permit has been approved. I applied on 29th of April and got the decision on the 28th of June, it took about 8 weeks. I think CHC London is working regardless of the strike.

standard processing times for study permit in UK is currently 8 to 10 weeks see (Canadian High Commission London Website). so hang in there, it shouldnt be too long now.
