    US outland applicants' thread :)

When my husband filed we called the CRA and explained that I didn't have one and they said to go ahead and leave it blank..

    November 2014 Outland Applications

The Delay (minus the Option C printout) was out of my control and directly CIC's fault . . . so I'm not sure what you're referring to by my case not being straightforward. Yes, my situation was out of the norm, but it had very little to do with my application and more to do with them losing...

Thus is the life in regards to CIC.. . I applied in February of 2014 and applicants from July 2014 were getting COPR and landing before me.

Landed today!!! :) Took us about 40 minutes. Had super awesome border officers. Went super smooth, had a tear in my eye as they all welcomed me to Canada! Thank you all so much for your help and support! It has truly made the worlds difference to us!

    February 2014 Outland Applications?

Ok! I am landing on February 2nd! Finally! I'm getting ready to fill out my B4 forms....how exactly do those work? Does everything go on one form or does the stuff I don't have that is coming later go on a separate form? Second, do I get my SIN when I land or do I have to go to a...

    February 2014 Outland Applications?

Was supposed to land today :( We've had to push my landing date back until sometime later this month. I'm currently stuck in Virginia so I can be with my family because of the situation with my Grandfather. This means I'll probably be landing alone, without my Canadian husband in an airport...

my wife is a canadian citizen, im an american citizen i have a few questions

6-8 months is coming from the average time it's taking someone to get Permanent Residency based off of personal experience. That's why they have spreadsheets here, because it keeps track of how long it's taking. . . The wait times posted in CIC is just an estimate. I'd suggest applying...

    Failing Conditional Residency Requirement

I could very well be wrong, but I think as long as you are living WITH your sponsor for the 2 years then you're fine. . . although I do think you're required to live in Canada for a certain amount of time over a space of a certain number of years. My Husband and I were going to have to return...

You actually order them online, I'm assuming you need sponsorship approval but a senior member can advise on that. I believe this is the Link that'll take you were you need to go - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-atip.asp

my wife is a canadian citizen, im an american citizen i have a few questions

If you applied inland you could work after first stage approval, which is taking roughly a year. . . Whereas Outland has you processed and landed right now in around 6-8 months. So. . . based on that I'd strongly recommend Outland

Medical Examination Required Before or After Sending Application?

We sent our medical exam once it was requested by CIC. I advise against it. I am convinced we would've been done with processing sooner if we had included it. Find an approved panel physician and get it done and send it with your application. Could end up saving you months of waiting.

    US outland applicants' thread :)

Off topic here. Where in VA are you staying and where are you headed in BC? My hometown is Virginia and I ended up in Kelowna B.C . . .

Weird request...what are they doing at NDVO???

A similar thing happened with our application though in Ottawa. We had paid the fee and sent all the proof that we had, and we didn't hear anything until October when they insisted we hadn't paid or sent the receipt. Was possibly lost in the sea of papers. We contacted the MP, took them the...

    Police checks and other questions

You'll have to get a set of fingerprints done and send them to the FBI in the United States. If your husband is the sponsor he doesn't need a background check, I believe Canada runs their own once the application is received for sponsors. You can either change your passport to your married...

overwhelmed- establish common law relationship (US)

I wouldn't recommend this but I managed to get through without a return ticket home back in 2013. . . . They asked when I planned on going home or if I was going to and I told them I'd need to be home for the start of the college semester (which wasn't a lie. . . if I went back I was going to be...

    US outland applicants' thread :)

Hey ya'll! Stupid question here. . . Since it seems PR card arrival times are high, how does that work if you have to leave Canada and you only have your copr? I know it's not a travel document, but after I land in January I could possibly be turning right back around to head back into the...
