Hey - I will be landing in Aug 2011, and have stupidly booked flights that are too close together. May I ask what airport, day of week, and time you landed? I'll be doing my papers at TO.

    Postgraduate Certificate from CANADA

There is a new PR program - if you do a Masters in Ontario from a standard university, you can apply for a PR with NO job offer. Go to the Ontario Immigration website.

In my case, the passport was asked for after they told me by email that the visa was ready for issue. However, my ecas didn't change to decision made until I already had my passport back at home, everything finished! Don't bother trying to analyse ecas. I think that they asked for additional...

So they asked you for a passport BEFORE they made a decision?

Thanks mmhughes - right back at you! I have a couple of questions for all those that have landed. 1) When writing out the list of goods to accompany you and those that'll come later, do you use the B4 document for both (separate) lists? and 2) Do we need to show a proof of funds, or is this...

Air Canada also charges ridiculously for domestic flights - $6 for a bag of jelly beans! Westjet is sneaky though - $50 to change a flight - even if it's weeks ahead of the flight!

Since you're bi***ing about airlines, I'll get this off of my chest: I've just spent the last three years living in Asia where most airlines still offer all the goodness Western airlines used to - refunds, date changes, free seat selection, etc. So why oh why is travel to and from Canada such a...

Thanks Limanoid - I hope so! I read some other people's experiences in TO, and it sounds like people's experiences depend on the officer and how busy the airport is - so basically no way to know! Anhyhoo, one good thing I found out is that Westjet flies out of the same terminal that I'm flying...

If you don't mind me asking, but could you tell me what airport that was and what day/time. I am landing in TO and have a connecting flight 2 hours later, so I'm nervous I won't make it to the next flight on time.

So, i finally got my RCMP fingerprints, and sent them to my VO. A few days later, on the 23 March, 2011, I got PPR. Yay me! But I'm not due to land till Aug.

Hello - straggler here! (Why oh why are the RCMP so stupid and slowwwwwwwwwwww) A small heads up for any UK applicants. I was logging into ecas as UNITED KINGDOM AND COLONIES up until last month. Now ecas has decided to only let me log in under ENGLAND. Have no idea why they would switch like that.

Silly me! I didn't read the part about not having to pay for the RCMP certificate, so they sent my cheque back :D But at least I know now that they have started to process my application :)

    Thread for September 2010 Applicants

OK so...when I started checking e-cas I used "UK and Colonies" as POB because that's what I had put on my application. But after no result, I started using "England" which was what I had used when I had applied for a student visa many moons ago. But all I got was my name but no updates. So I...

    Thread for September 2010 Applicants

It doesn't really matter to me as I don't want to land till September 2011 and I think it'll be finished by then (as long as they don't say no!) I would suggest to anyone applying in the future to submit their app. one year ahead of their desired landing date. Having all this extra time has...

    Thread for September 2010 Applicants

From reading a few other posts, some people did guess that they would be asked to provide the RCMP certificate and so applied for it BEFORE they knew they had too. The only drawback to doing that is that if your visa office is SUPER slow, you may get the RCMP certificate too early and it...

Update: Incorrectly requested for a UK police check, then changed their minds(!) and asked to apply for an RCMP certificate on 12/22/2010.
