@ vivekforbes, It would have taken less then 1 month, I delayed in taking my medicals after CHC informed me abt it. I applied under general category.....

I Got my passport today,,,,, VISA has been stamped...I understand it is TRV....also enclosed an letter for study permit to be issued at port of entry!

I got admission from simon fraser university. I applied for visa on 5 feb and recievd visa on 4 march.

Re: Emai approval of VISA- got confusion @ Always optimistic! So the passport which has been dispatched from CHC will not have the visa stamped, is it?

The email attachment from the CHC mentioned in this fashion 'Your application to study in Canada has been approved. Your study permit will be issued to you upon arrival in Canada, subject to your compliance with the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and its Regulations...

@ Kaur_randhay - I applied myself. Canadian Visa process is quite simple. See VFS website, everything is crystal clear

Please do it atleast 3 months before , by July 1 is also fine. But make sure ur documents are proper.
