    Inland Application 2011

So I landed today officially in Calgary! (my info is already on the chart) It was more or less what everyone said here. The interview was mostly a formality. Our interview was scheduled for 9:45 am, so we showed up at 9:30. They led us to a line to pay the $490, and here's where my biggest...

So I got a letter (from March 27) confirming that I have PR and telling me to wait for Calgary to send me a landing date. Yay! It says I need to pay $450 before I can be given PR. Since I know it can take a long time before the landing interview, I think I want to get a temporary SIN number...

    Inland Application 2011

By the way, if they want extra documents (new medicals, etc), where do they usually tell you? In the AIP letter, on the website (ecas), or both?

    Inland Application 2011

I didn't say AIP because she didn't say so on the phone, but she mentioned OWP and getting a work visa-- so I think that's AIP, yeah. They received my application on May 24th, 2011 and started processing on June 2nd, 2011.

Missha, yes I hired a lawyer for the process. I needed police certificates from four countries, and I sent my application with two of them. I sent the other two later, when they arrived.

    Inland Application 2011

I'd give them a call, Berber_amazigh! You're within the current timeframe of applications (19 days a week) and it does seem to take a while for eCas to be updated. I'm crossing my fingers for you! As for everyone who's gotten good news this week so far.... congrats! ;)

Sarahkhans, I had to request a police certificate from Pakistan, and it took several months. I'm a non-national, which may have affected the length of time, but I wouldn't be surprised if it took just as long as nationals. Have you tried calling the Pakistani consulate you applied through to ask...

    Inland Application 2011

You do need to get those! (Be sure to get the medicals at a place on the list approved for Canadian immigration. The CIC site lists them, including for Calgary.) You might want to wait for the medicals, though, as putting together the application can take time and if CIC takes as long as it has...

I think that's for the best! Since they told you personally to do so. I guess me and the others will find out soon enough if we needed to too? I'll post here if I find out that's the case.
